International reinsurance hub in Lin-gang Special Area takes shape
Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area has secured a significant milestone in its quest to become a global reinsurance hub when images of the interior of the Shanghai International Reinsurance Exchange were revealed.
Located in Phase I of Dishui Lake Financial Bay, the towering 50-meter, 11-story edifice, spanning 18,700 square meters, is being developed and operated by Lingang Group's subsidiary, Lin-gang Special Area Economic Development, underscoring Lin-gang's commitment to fostering a world-class reinsurance ecosystem.
The building's ground and first floors house a state-of-the-art trading hall, adopting a seat-based system to facilitate seamless negotiations and transactions between reinsurance suppliers and consumers. The exchange serves as a catalyst for the expansion of reinsurance activities, underpinning the development of specialized insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage firms.
In addition to its core trading functions, the exchange is designed to attract a comprehensive suite of insurance service providers, forming a cohesive ecosystem centered around reinsurance capabilities. The third floor, in particular, showcases a fusion of modern design and functionality, offering adaptable workspaces tailored for diverse operational needs. It embodies a blend of innovation, efficiency, and comfort, setting a new benchmark for office environments in Lin-gang's insurance zone.
